Master Gardeners Winter/Spring WorkshopsMaster Gardeners enjoy gardening, have gardening experience, want to learn more about gardening and have a desire to help others in their community. They have all completed an intensive training program and volunteer a minimum of 45 hours during their first year. Master Gardeners extend the home gardening outreach of Delaware Cooperative Extension. Workshops start in January and continue till June.

Promoting Healthy Lifestyle AwardsThe Sussex Child Health Promotion Coalition is Seeking  Nominations from members of the Coalition for the  Bi annual Promoting Healthy Lifestyle Awards. This award recognizes specific members, organizations or business’s in Sussex County who promote healthy eating or active living in the community or in business.  The person or organization nominated does not have to be a current member of the coalition to receive the award.  Four awards will be given at the next Quarterly Meeting on April 22, 2010.

The Delaware EITC Campaign Needs You!Help hard-working low-income families claim the tax credits they’ve earned!  Each hour of your time can bring up to $4,800 to a hard-working Delaware family.  Last year, 500 volunteers helped more than 14,000 Delaware families receive almost $19 million in federal refunds state-wide. With your help, they can do more!

The Fourth Annual Community WalkThe Sussex Child Health Promotion Coalition, the town of Laurel, Bridgeville, Georgetown, Lewes and the city of Seaford along with our senior partner Nemours Health & Prevention Services invite the community out to our fourth promoting health with our Sussex County “Spring into Health Community Walk”.  This walk is being held simultaneously in all five towns.
